Moira Pernambuco-Holsten is an environmental, street photographer, and studio portrait photographer living in Brooklyn, New York. She was born in Guyana, South America, and moved to New York at the age of ten. She earned a bachelor's degree from Purchase College and an MFA degree from the San Francisco Art Institute.
Her work has been exhibited at institutions such as the Caribbean Cultural Center in New York City, the Smithsonian Anacostia Community Museum in Washinghton DC, the New York Public Library's Schomburg Center, and the Yale University Art Gallery in New Haven, Connecticut.
Her work is also in private collections as well as the collections of the Caribbean Cultural Center in New York, Columbia University's School of Social Work, the NYPL Schomburg Center, and the Yale University Art Gallery, among others.
